Fleet, Network & International Expansion

 

  • Fleet Overview: As of 2025, Alaska Airlines operates an all-Boeing mainline fleet—including 737-700s, -800s, -900/900ER, MAX 8s, MAX 9s, and Boeing 787-9s—with orders pending for both 787-9s (deliveries starting in 2025) and 787-10s; around 332 mainline jets in service, plus Embraer 175 aircraft operated regionally by Horizon Air.

  • Global Ambitions Unfolding:

    • The airline unveiled its first transatlantic route—Seattle to Rome—marking its first long-haul service to Europe.

    • Additional intercontinental routes launching soon include Seattle–Tokyo Narita and Seattle–Seoul, using Hawaiian A330s following the integration with Hawaiian Airlines.

    • Alaska also announced a summer 2026 seasonal nonstop from Seattle to Reykjavík on a 737 MAX 8.

Brand & Design Evolution

 

  • Dreamliner Identity Refresh: A bold new livery for the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet—featuring aurora-inspired hues and retro stripes—will debut in January 2026, reimagining the airline’s aesthetic while maintaining ties to its heritage.

  • Creative Themed Livery: Alaska unveiled “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer,” its ninth Disneyland-themed aircraft, celebrating the Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary with vibrant, storybook visuals inspired by The Princess and the Frog .
